[Mt. Ontake] Eruption Alert Level lowered to 1│Tourist facilities are operating as usual.

The eruption warning level of Mt. Ontake has been lowered to 1 (noting that it is an active volcano)

Volcanic earthquakes are decreasing and volcanic activity is decreasing. Volcanic activity is decreasing. Please check the latest information and take safety measures.

Nigorigo Onsen and other tourist related facilities in the Hida-Osaka area are far from the crater and are outside the restricted area.

■ Disaster Prevention Warning, etc.
Because of the need to take safety measures against sudden eruptions, Gero City has established a restricted area within 500 meters of the crater that is off-limits to visitors in accordance with Article 63, Paragraph 1 of the Basic Act on Disaster Countermeasures.
Unauthorized entry into the restricted area is punishable by law, so please do not enter the area.
Ontake is an active volcano. Please understand that an active volcano may erupt and produce cinders and volcanic gases, so please be very careful.
