The Mt. Ontake Safety Prayer Festival and Mountain Opening Ceremony were held on June 3rd at the Ontake Nigorigo High Altitude Training Center, where all those involved prayed for the safety of Mt. Ontake.
Suzuyama, head of the Hida-Osaka Tourism Association, greeted the visitors by saying, “It’s thanks to Mt. Ontake that Kosaka has 200 waterfalls and forests. Enjoy the splendor of Mt. Ontake and enjoy it safely.”
Climbers are encouraged to fully enjoy Mt. Ontake, which boasts the highest summit area in Japan, with a climbing plan that takes into account their own physical strength and skills.
